Manhattan College

Bachelor of Science

Dagli Velo, E.I.T.

Assistant Project Engineer

A former intern of Cuono Engineering, Dagli joined the Cuono team, full-time, shortly after receiving his Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from Manhattan College. He realized his passion for becoming a structural engineer during his college studies; his analysis classes made him truly feel the need to challenge himself.

Dagli is involved in a variety of structural projects, including the design of new buildings and renovations of existing buildings.  However, he most enjoys working on older, sometimes historic, residential homes and projects in which he provides a structural investigation report on the existing framing conditions, and then follows up with the required retrofit design and reinforcement detail drawings.

His interest lies in the analysis and development of drawings in order to provide clients with detailed reports and drawing sets that are easy to follow and understand.  However, he also enjoys the modeling that plays a crucial role in structural engineering today - whether it be a simple frame, partial building section, or a whole building.  The model can verify our understanding of the load path and simplify the calculations for the accumulation of forces down to the foundation.

In his spare time, Dagli enjoys snowboarding, hiking, fixing cars, and video games.
