Jarett Rooney, P.E., LEED Green Associate

Assistant Project Engineer

A former Cuono Engineering intern, Jarett joined the Cuono Engineering team full time, shortly after finishing up his Master’s Degree.  As a masters student, he was a graduate assistant and throughout his time at Manhattan College, he enjoyed being involved in tutoring, ASCE, Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) and Deep Foundations Institute (DFI).

 

During his studies, Jarett attended the International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering (IABSE) conference at the Javits Center in Manhattan where he presented a paper, co-published with his professor, titled Blast Mitigation Design for Urban Steel Structures Subjected to Close-in Detonations. He also contributed to research and the writing of a conference paper on Stability of Steel Columns Subjected to Near-Field Detonations for the Structural Stability Research Council (SSRC).

 

His love of solving problems and analyzing various systems is what led him to the path of Structural Engineering.  He has found that designing, going to job sites, and watching his designs get constructed are all truly rewarding parts of his job.  He works on both residential and commercial renovation, as well as new construction projects, but when he's not spending time solving problems and analyzing structures, you can find Jarett playing Video Games, tennis, and spending time with family.
