Newburgh Mid-Century Modern Studio
Structural design for renovation of 1-story mid-century building in Newburgh.
This project consisted of the structural design for the renovation of a 1-story mid-century building in Newburgh, NY.
Cuono Engineering designed and detailed the new low girder to replace the existing CMU bearing wall at the rear portion of the building, while verifying the structural capacity of the roof framing at the front portion, where the framing was spanning across the full width of the building. In addition, we verified the structural impact of the existing CMU walls to be relocated, as well as designed and detailed the rear steel plate retaining wall.
