Structural design of new 9,200 SF replacement chapel in North Haledon, NJ.
St. Joseph's Chapel is a new 9,200 SF replacement chapel for one that was damaged during a fire. Cuono Engineering provided the structural design services for the new chapel including the design of a new elevator shaft connecting the chapel with the adjacent existing building to meet ADA compliances.
The structural framing consists of steel framing with concrete over metal deck floor systems. The main lateral-force resisting system consists of continuous steel bent-frames of varying spans. Steel columns are supported on isolated spread footings & concrete retaining walls.
