As a board member and active volunteer for Habitat CFC, Cuono Engineering Senior Associate, Melissa Fitter was a volunteer working on one of the two duplexes being constructed in Fairfield that day. Beyond her time participating in the Women Build events, Melissa's passion for Habitat has also been extended to our own company, as she helps to organize Cuono Engineering's team builds with Habitat CFC.

"Although recently joining the Habitat board and lending support to the leadership team, I am always most excited and energized to participate on build days where I can see tangible work being accomplished. Affordable housing is a crisis not going away anytime soon, and our work at Habitat is playing an important role in solving the problem, one house at a time. My volunteer time spent during Women's Build days are special to me because it gives me the opportunity to share my knowledge with other women and other future homeowners on the way houses are constructed. An added bonus of volunteering in more recent months is the sense of pride I've felt with working on homes right in my own community like the ones featured here."
The next Women Build meetup is scheduled for this Wednesday, March 26th at Two Roads Brewing Company in Stratford, CT. For more info on the upcoming meetup or other Women Build Events, please visit: https://habitatcfc.org/women-build-events/
The Habitat for Humanity of Coastal Fairfield County chapter was founded in 1985 with the mission to improve lives through eliminating substandard housing and creating affordable homeownership possibilities. Serving the community of Fairfield County, the organization has built and rehabbed nearly 300 homes for over 1,200 families. In celebration of their 40th anniversary, they will be hosting an 80's themed Gala on Friday, April 26th. For more details on the gala or ways you can help, please visit: https://habitatcfc.org/gala
