Sunday, June 23rd is International Women in Engineering Day, a day in which we celebrate the outstanding achievements of women engineers around the world. This year, our spotlight shines on Karen Vaughan, P.E., a seasoned Senior Associate with over 20 years of experience in the engineering industry who celebrates her 5 year anniversary with Cuono Engineering this week! A graduate of Georgia Tech and Stanford, Karen is licensed in California, Georgia, Florida and New York.
Karen's expertise lies in the renovation and design of commercial buildings, where she has excelled in managing all aspects of projects from concept design to construction administration. Her portfolio includes a wide range of projects, from small tenant fit-outs to complex mixed-use developments, mid and high-rise structures, hospital renovations, and public entertainment venues.
One of Karen's career highlights includes her work on the Bronco's stadium in Denver, where her picture was featured in Engineering News Record (ENR). This project, a design-build endeavor, was a significant milestone in her career, as she spent nearly two years on-site overseeing its construction and witnessing it come to life.
Karen's passion for engineering is evident in her approach to every project, as she thrives on overcoming challenges and exploring new structural features. Her dedication to the field and our team serves as an inspiration to current and future female engineers, proving that with hard work and perseverance, women can excel and advance to leadership roles in these traditionally male-dominated industries.
